Radio Days

http://thebeginningfarmer.com/2008/04/ Kevin Mason - 1981From 1979 to 2006 I worked in the radio business. Actually, you could say I was a broadcasting brat. I was a second generation broadcaster. My father was in the radio and television business for roughly 25 years and I caught the broadcasting bug early on.

I then started doing agency commercial work at the age of 8, and by the age of 14 was involved doing high school basketball broadcasts.

I got my first “official” part time radio job the summer after I graduated from high school and had my first full time job doing the overnight shift before I graduated from college.

Kevin Mason - 2002My radio journey took me from Illinois to Virginia, then to North Carolina and Alabama. After that there were stops in Illinois and Indiana before I wrapped up my career spending 11 years in Akron, Ohio.

In October 2006 I was honored with my induction into the Radio And Television Broadcasters Hall Of Fame Of Ohio. There were plenty of ups and downs, and way too many U-Haul’s but it truly was an amazing journey, and I was blessed with the opportunity to experience many things that so few people do.
